Face Yoga is a combination of face exercises, face massage, face acupressure and face relaxation.  It also focuses on wellbeing techniques for the body and soul giving you an added sense of relaxation and wellbeing.

I teach the Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method which is a highly effective combination of the traditional and the modern. Many techniques are rooted in Eastern philosophies and practices which have been used for thousands of years in India, China and Japan. These practices have been passed down through generations and proven time and time again to be helpful for both aesthetics and health. The Method is also very much based on modern research and techniques which look at the science of the face, how it is composed and how it should be treated.

There are 57 muscles in the face which respond very quickly to the techniques employed in Face Yoga. So, just as your body needs regular exercise to stay toned and firm, the muscles in the face and neck also need to be exercised.

As the facial muscles become stronger through exercise they are lifted and firmed and the skin attached to the muscles is also lifted and tautened, therefore reducing lines and wrinkles. You will increase the circulation, lymph flow and remove toxins. This will reduce poor skin tone, puffiness and dark circles and allow the skin to look healthier and more youthful. The massage techniques will also increase the collagen and elastin, the natural plumping agents which will mean a firmer and healthier complexion.

Results from doing Face Yoga really does vary from person to person, although most of the time you will see and feel some difference straight away with less tension in your face and your skin may have a rosy glow due to the improved circulation.

As a general rule there is more of a long-term improvement in the face and neck after 2 weeks. After 2-4 months, you will notice less fine lines, less tension and look healthier and more energised. Within 6-9 months most people report that they look and feel many years younger and feel more relaxed within themselves.

My own personal journey in this practice is testimony to this and I do a 10-20 min facial workout daily. I find it incredibly relaxing and the sense of wellbeing is something to be experienced.

 

How it is delivered..

Monthly class at my garden Studio in Barnstaple, held on the last Tuesday of every month. 7 – 8.15pm.  The whole relaxation and wellbeing experience includes a class delivered for as much for its relaxation benefits as it is for information and knowledge.

Monthly group session class – £20

Private Face Yoga session for one person 75 minutes – £50

Private Face Yoga session for two people – £25 each

Workshops are available and are a great introduction to the practice, also I’m available to come to you to deliver a Face Yoga party for you and your friends. Get in touch! 


A handout of the exercises covered in each class is provided and allows for personal practice at home until we meet at the following class to continue our learning. I recommend 4 sessions to gain an understanding and learn the exercises to use at home for life. When working individually or in pairs, 2 classes should suffice.   All classes are 75 minutes. Classes are in person and students are always welcome to come back to class to renew their skills. 

 

As a teacher of the Method my aim is to provide high quality, consistent and clear teaching of Face Yoga. I am giving you tools for life to use at home which will enhance your wellbeing as you progress with the exercises to gain a more youthful face and healthy complexion.
